The Afrosiyob high-speed train makes Samarkand possible as a day trip from Tashkent: about 2 to 2.5 hours each way, in economy class. It is a long day, usually about 12 to 14 hours from hotel to hotel, but you see the great monuments of the Silk Road without changing hotels.
We pick you up at your hotel in Tashkent and take you to the station for a morning train. In Samarkand your private guide and car meet you at the station. You visit Registan Square, the Gur-Emir Mausoleum, the Bibi-Khanym Mosque, Shah-i-Zinda, the Ulugh Beg Observatory and Siab Bazaar, and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. A late-afternoon or early-evening train takes you back, and we drive you from the station to your hotel. Train times change with the season, so we confirm them when we book.
Entrance tickets (about $34 per person) and lunch (about $15 per person) are not in the base price. You can pay for them on the day, or choose All-inclusive when you book.
If there are no Afrosiyob economy seats on your date, we use the Sharq train or an air-conditioned car for one or both directions. The price stays the same; the time in Samarkand is shorter and your guide adjusts the route.
